[회화] deal with / cope with 뜻과 차이점 알아보기

'어떤 문제를 맡아 처리하다.' 를 비즈니스 영어로 표현할 때 가장 많이 사용되는 문구 중 하나가 deal with이다. 

 

I could deal with this problem by myself.

I have some urgent thing to deal with.

 

그런데 cope with도 같은 의미로 사용되어지는데 차이가 무엇일까?

 

찾아보니 사실 크게 차이가 있지는 않아 보인다. 

cope with가 조금 더 난이도 있는 문제, 해결하기 힘든 문제에 사용된다는 차이정도?

 

It's not easy for her to cope with this issue. 

I was impressed at her skill to cope with the problem.

 

여기 사용된 cope with 대신 deal with가 사용되어도 크게 문제가 되진 않기 때문에 미묘한 차이점을 인식해두고 사용하면 될 것 같다.

 

+ put together도 비슷한 내용에 많이 사용되니 알아두면 좋을 것 같다. 문제를 해결하기에 초점을 두기 보다는 준비하는데 초점을 맞춘 단어이다.
